We’ve Been Shortlisted for the AAC Awards 2025!

We are proud and excited to share some brilliant news!

Our school has been nominated and shortlisted for the Communication Matters AAC Awards 2025.
We are up for “Setting of the Year”, a special award that recognises a school, team, or organisation that has supported AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) in a creative and inclusive way.

What is AAC?
AAC stands for Augmentative and Alternative Communication. It includes all the different ways people can communicate when they cannot speak or need extra support to express themselves. This can include communication boards, speech devices, symbols, signs, and more.
We are so proud to be recognised for our work helping students use their voices in ways that work for them.

What We’ve Been Doing
This year, the school has made some exciting developments to support communication for all students. We’ve introduced core boards across all our campuses and started using a specialist software package called TD Snap. Many students are now also receiving personalised communication devices to help them express themselves in the way that works best for them.

These new tools build on all the amazing things we’ve already been doing for years — including Sign-a-long, PECS, Intensive Interaction, and many other approaches that are part of our inclusive Total Communication approach.
