Linwood Campus

Linwood Campus is the largest campus spanning both sides of Alma Road in Winton. We are an all-through school from Key Stage 1 – Key Stage 5. We cater for a diverse range of student needs and abilities and offer multiple curriculums to meet these needs.

Linwood has a specially equipped food tech room, music room and radio room, sports halls (for PE, dance, and sensory circuits), sensory room, outdoor play spaces, playgrounds, field, and trim trail.

Linwood classes range in size from 8 – 14 students.

Morning Registration: 9.10am-9.30am

Students arriving on LEA transport are sometimes delayed through circumstances beyond their control. Students are not marked late in these circumstances.

All students also have an hour lunch break during the school day to include time to eat their lunch and have some recreation time.

School Uniform

Across Linwood School, we value our school uniform as a symbol of belonging to our school community. We hope that students feel a sense of pride and belonging to our school.

It is our policy that all students from Nursery to Year 11 must wear school uniform. We are an inclusive school and we understand the differing needs of our students. A student who is comfortable in their clothing is most likely to become an active learner, so comfort is a significant factor at Linwood. We have adopted an Always Active Uniform to encourage all our students to be ready for our varied timetable. Please review the list below. These changes will be effective from September 2025 but for existing students, if their current uniform still fits them we are not expecting you to change it until they grow out of it/ it wears out. This also means that students will not require an additional PE.

All uniform should be in the colours listed. It should be plain and only contain discreet branding. We only request that the sweatshirt/cardigan has the school logo on it. Uniform with school logos can be ordered online at PMG Schoolwear. Please note that their stores in New Milton and Poole do not hold stock but you can use their free Click & Collect service to save on postage costs (you will need to make an appointment to collect). All other items can be easily purchased in supermarkets and high street stores.

If your child/young person has some specific sensory or physical needs then please talk to your Curriculum Lead about what alternatives are most suitable for the young person and the activities in school. Likewise, if a young person has other clothing needs relating to their beliefs or gender identity then again please discuss these with your Curriculum Lead so we can help support you and the young person in alternative choices.

Please label items of school uniform with your child’s name using name tags or a permanent marker pen. This will enable us to return items that have been found around the school.

Linwood School Uniform Requirements

Required

White school/polo shirt (we recommend that senior students have a spare t-shirt to change into for very hot/active days)
Royal blue cardigan, jumper or sweatshirt with logo
Black sweatshirt or cardigan with logo (for students in Years 10 & 11)
Black or grey jogging bottoms, thick leggings or knee length shorts
White, black or grey socks
Trainers for footwear (unless the student requires orthopedic boots)

Optional

Fleeces are optional for the winter for break times or in extreme conditions as an additional layer to jumpers/sweatshirts.
Bags with logo are optional.

Clothing Allowance

The Clothing Allowance is a grant that Linwood School governors wish to support and is awarded on an annual basis. Once approved the allowance is valid for 2 years. For more information on this allowance and to download the application form, please visit our Forms page
