Post 16 CHI

CHI (Classroom in the Heart of Industry) is based in Bargates, Christchurch, Tesco Riverside & Marsham Court Hotel, Bournemouth. At each site, we have a classroom space and fully supported on-the-job training opportunities. At Bargates our students run the Venture shop, supporting local artists and creators and selling their products. Across CHI our students work with a team of teachers, learning and employment support workers and placement coordinators to develop the skills and knowledge required to enable them to be successful in employment opportunities across the Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch areas.

CHI Programme

Classroom in the Heart of Industry (CHI ) is a unique Linwood School provision designed for students aged 16-19 who have an EHCP. It is a two- or three-year programme designed to develop employability skills alongside gaining recognised qualifications. The CHI project acts as a gateway to employment by providing training and experience to prepare young people for working life. CHI seeks to support and develop students’ skills for employment.

We are committed to maximising the learning opportunities and ensuring successful outcomes for all our learners. Parties from education and industry are working together to deliver a productive and successful curriculum.
