Future Thoughts Coffee Morning – Summer 2023

‘My Child’ Support Group

My Child is the Linwood Support Group for parents/carers of children with SEND needs who present as dysregulated (behaviour that challenges).

Parents/carers can feel isolated, worried and unable to cope when dysregulation leads to physical and verbal behaviour that is challenging and presents safety risks.

All behaviour is communication, but it can be difficult to interpret dysregulated behaviour.

This support group provides an opportunity to share your worries with other parents who are experiencing the same concerns.

Andy Maher (Assistant Head at Springwood Campus and Regulation & Engagement Lead Professional) will share advice, information, strategies, or just a listening ear to help you support your child and family.

The group will meet once a month, at Linwood or Springwood Family Room. The day and time of the group will change monthly to ensure that the group is flexible and inclusive as possible.

First meeting: Friday 17 March 10:00-12:00 at Springwood Campus.

If you would like to join us, please contact Shan Evans (contact details above).

Talking Dads

The Talking Dads coffee mornings are for all dads/carers of children with special needs. This is a free parent-led group with the aim of providing a safe space for you to share parenting experience, build resilience and access support.

Next meeting: every first Wednesday of each month
Time: 9.30-11.30am
Venue: Linwood Family Room or in the community

Linwood Wellness Group
