Tomorrow (Thursday 4 March) is World Book Day. Circumstances presented by the Covid19 pandemic mean that this year, we can’t do everything we would do in other years but we do want to mark the day in some way.
We are excited therefore to offer a range of story readings on Zoom throughout the day with members of school’s senior leadership team joining each of us to read our favourite stories at different times. We even have a reading from the enigmatic Masked Reader at 2.30!
If your son/daughter will be at home tomorrow, he/she is invited to join any of the story readings, along with you and other members of your family. The schedule of story-readings is below and an email sent to parents with the Zoom log in details. Please contact your class teacher if you have any problems.
Another simple, fun activity to try at home is to turn a potato into a favourite book character. There are some examples of characters you might recognise below. If you try this at home, we’d love to see photographs of your creations!
World Book Day book vouchers will be sent home as usual. If your son/daughter is returning to school next week, he/she will be given a voucher then.
We look forward to seeing you tomorrow.
