Enterprise at Summerwood is an important part of the curriculum model. It provides students the opportunity to gain experience in vital DIY skills as we have several furniture upcycling projects in progress. Students have also made Christmas gifts and cards.
How we do it
We take unwanted furniture and give it a new lease of life. Take a look at some of our previous projects below and also the items we currently have for sale. The students not only gained ‘hands on’ experience but also can appreciate how easily a business can be developed, something that could easily be started from any home to generate an income.
Items we have made
We have worked on coffee tables, chairs, picture frames, a storage box and a bureau. For Christmas, we made cards and seasonal products such as elf shoes. We not only repaint our items of furniture but re-upholster them too to give them a completely new lease of life!
Items for sale
All of the furniture or other items made by the students are available to buy should you wish to do so. To see our items for sale please click on the link below. We are happy to arrange delivery of any items purchased provided this is local.
Do you have items to donate?
We are always on the hunt for items that we can use for future projects. If you are happy to donate something please contact Steve Callear at Summerwood to see if it is something that might be suitable. We are also happy to collect items locally.
