World Nursery Rhyme Week

23 Nov 2022

Last week the Early Years classes across Linwood campuses took part in World Nursery Rhyme week. The children engaged in activities every day on a focused nursery rhyme.

On Monday the children in Caterpillars class made their own boat out of foil to see if it could float for ‘The Big Ship Sails’.

Children at Linwood Campus enjoyed fishing as part of their maths for ‘1, 2, 3, 4, 5 once I caught a fish alive’, whilst the children at Littlewood Campus created colourful fish in an art activity.

On Wednesday, children in Ladybirds used tweezers to pick out frogs from the jelly for ‘5 Little Speckled Frogs’.

On Thursday the children at Littlewood attended attention autism sessions about dogs for ‘B I N G O’, adding dots to a Dalmatian dog for their stage 4 activity.

On Friday we finished the week with ‘Twinkle Twinkle Little Star’, finding stars in glitter and developing fine motor skills by adding pegs to the points on a star.

We had lots of fun with nursery rhymes throughout the day – requesting songs, learning signs for them and dancing to our favourite ones.

Well done Early Years!
