Students in Aquila Class and Cygnus Class are voting in this year’s election to the UK Youth Parliament. Young people from schools and colleges across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole are standing for election, hoping to win a coveted seat on the Youth Parliament and students from Linwood School campuses are joining their peers in other schools across the country in casting their votes during this month. Members of the UK Youth Parliament work locally with local authorities, MPs and other organisations in their campaigns on issues they feel strongly about and they meet in the House of Commons to agree a shared manifesto for the most significant issues for young people nationwide. Participating in these elections is a great way for Springwood students to learn more about citizenship, democracy and British values.
