We are delighted to be able to offer a wide range of extended services based at Linwood School and in partnership with local children and youth services.
Club Linwood
All SEN children in possession of an EHCP in year groups 1–14 (until young person’s 18th birthday) are able to take part in after-school and holiday club provisions.
The provision is funded by Bournemouth and Hampshire Short Breaks and by individual application from Dorset Social Services. Small grants are occasionally offered by private sector funding.
The provision runs for 4 nights a week term time and 8 weeks of the school holidays.

Clubs for Families
Our Family Support Worker also offers clubs where parents/carers can attend with their child/family. These include Co-Motion, Arts & Crafts and Swim & Play sessions. For more information, please visit our Family Support page.

Club Details
After School Club – Seniors
Includes a range of activities for your child to enjoy such as arts & crafts, cooking, soft play and construction. Total Communication is encouraged in all activities. Drink and a snack are provided.
Arts & Movement Club – Juniors & Seniors
During these sessions, groups play games and work on themes and topics through drama and movement. Apart from having lots of fun, young people can increase in confidence, become more motivated, improve their communication skills and the list doesn’t stop there! Linwood Arts and Movement Club will get everyone moving and shaking to the beat, including an end of term show for parents to see.
Football Club – Juniors & Seniors
This is held at Linwood Main Provision on Thursdays during term time and is facilitated by our own in-house football coaches and PE team. We have forged links with Special Schools across Dorset and will be able to offer regular league matches as well as working with mainstream clubs where appropriate.
Holiday Club – Juniors & Seniors
Includes a range of activities for your child to enjoy such as arts & crafts, cooking, sports, soft/sensory play and construction.
Holiday Clubs are held at Springwood Campus.
Music Club – Seniors
Lead by Richard Newland from Aim Community.org, a charity that supports Music & the Arts in school settings. Pupils learn how to set up and use the decks/equipment and are given opportunities to create and mix their own tracks.

SIBS Club – Juniors & Seniors
SIBS is a youth group for young people who have a sibling with a learning disability. These sessions are open to young people from 5 1/2 to 17 years old. They provide a range of activities each session including: computer games, cooking, arts & crafts, sports. SIBS also explores the issues that affect those with a sibling who has a learning disability. This is often supported by a range of professionals who provide expert advice on a specific issue or topic. SIBS is £5 per day for each child to attend, although more if they go on a trip. This is open to all Siblings of a special needs child from Bournemouth, Poole and East Dorset.

Sports Club Linwood – Juniors & Seniors
Working in partnership with the Coastal Recreation Team and Bournemouth University, Sports Club Linwood offers multi-sports training which includes beach volleyball, beach football, beach tennis, sitting volleyball and kwick cricket. This club is held at Linwood School during winter months and at the beach during summer months.
Students may have the opportunity to work towards recognised sports qualifications to add to their CV and work skills.
