It’s Book Week at Linwood School! The theme is Growth, which ties in with Science Week in a couple of weeks.
Mercury Class enjoyed a visit to West Howe Library today where they learnt about what plants need to grow and the effect of water on compost. Pupils also listened to stories and songs about growth and they enjoyed choosing some books in the library to read themselves.
Star Class read the story of ‘The Tiny Seed’. They explored the story using a multi-sensory approach: tasting sunflower seeds; investigating light; experiencing water; touching and melting ice; playing with sand; and observing feathers as they float. What a fun learning experience!
Orion Class have been shopping for their special World Book Day books. Every pupil and student at Springwood has been given a voucher that can be used to buy one of the books that have been released especially for this year’s World Book Day and are available from book shops and supermarkets.
