In February, Linwood School had an exciting opportunity to enter an art competition to have their work displayed in the Royal Academy of Arts Young Artists’ Summer Show. Over thirty young people across all of the campuses entered, showing an excellent variety of creativity. Lyndsay Baker, class teacher and Lumos art coordinator, said “This was an exciting opportunity for our young people to get creative, giving them the chance to enter a competition where they had expert art judges looking at their artwork.”

Lyndsay was delighted when she received an email to say that Jessica Ramachandran’s piece of art had been chosen to be displayed in the show. The contemporary piece had originally been part of a larger piece submitted by Jessica but the judges had expressed a particular interest in just one section.

Jessica’s piece of art (above) will be on display on the online exhibition from 16th July and can be viewed at https://youngartists.royalacademy.org.uk
