Linwood Campus hosted a variety of activities this term for the National Careers Week (6th – 10th March).
Students in our Lumos KS3 and KS4 classes had the opportunity to engage in a variety of activities throughout the week.
Students were inspired with talks from Linwood Alumni who came in to talk about their employment journey and the impact Linwood teaching had on their lives. We also had visits from CHI students who spoke about the CHI program and what they hope to achieve from this.
The Advice and Guidance Team (IAG) worked with KS3 students to talk to them about how they will be supported from year 9 and above with understanding their options for the future.
Students in Bader and Bocelli class spent some time at Yunex in Poole exploring the opportunities this employer could offer. The week was rounded off with visits from ASDA, Bournemouth and Hengistbury Head where students discovered about the various roles in these settings – a lot of fun was had when the students had the opportunity to try on the uniforms!
A really big thank you to all the current and previous students of Linwood for giving up their time. As well as the employers, Yunex, Asda and Hengistbury Head.
Students in the Vita Phase had some investment from the Venture Shop, Christchurch to help them with their Easter Enterprise. Students worked together to write to the Venture Shop after which they planned and worked together to develop the best ways to use the money. Students used skills such as maths (coin recognition and value), English, team-working, independence skills and communication.
