ChatHealth, our School Nurse texting service, remains open Mon-to-Fri even though schools are closed. We are a young person’s (ages 11 to 19) support & advice service and able to provide emotional reassurance and help with general teenage concerns, such as mental health, bullying, self harm, healthy eating, drugs, sex, contraception, smoking, alcohol. Again, FREE throughout school closures, these Go! Collections are ready-made, curated collections of Go! Resources which cover most ages and subjects.

Brilliant Publications
Brilliant Publications have a large range of free materials and specially chosen books that have printable sheets, making them easy to assign as work to be undertaken at home. Activities have been designed to inspire and motivate pupils such as play activities, activities to promote speaking and listening, activities relating to the weather, and science and technology activities for the outdoor environment.

Here’s a list of websites for home learning that may be useful for all parents and learners. These are often used by parents who are home schooling as well as some we use to plan lessons. Perhaps pick a few subjects a day and do something on them but break it up with practical tasks from our home learning pack.

All subjects

Oak National Academy

Online classroom and resource hub offering 180 video lessons each week for schools to use, across a broad range of subjects. The lessons cover children in Reception through to Year 10 and are free to use by both teachers and young people.

BBC Bitesize

Three new lessons every weekday, with videos, activities and more.


Free online education resources & games.


Free to access 100s of courses, only pay to upgrade if you need a certificate in your name (own account from age 14+ but younger learners can use a parent account).

Khan Academy

Especially good for maths and computing for all ages but other subjects at Secondary level. Note this uses the US grade system but it’s mostly common material.


Free taster courses aimed at those considering Open University but everyone can access it. Adult level, but some e.g. nature and environment courses could well be of interest to young people.


For those revising at GCSE or A level. Tons of free revision content. Paid access to higher level material.

Top Marks

Good interactive games for all subject areas. Favourites for teaching about money are the Coins Game and Toy Shop Money Game.

Joe Wicks (The Body Coach)

Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 9am, Joe Wicks (aka ‘The Body Coach’) is live-streaming a 30-minute PE class on his YouTube channel for free. If you can’t tune in then, don’t worry – you can watch them back whenever you want. If your kids are getting restless, this is a great way to get them burning off some energy while they’re stuck indoors, and a fun way to start the day if you’re home-schooling.

Mr Higgins Indoor Inclusive PE

Simon Higgins – Head of PE and Sport at Victoria School is doing a live stream of inclusive activities every day at 5pm. He will go through a few activities and hopefully it will be good fun and inclusive.

Youth Sport Trust

The Youth Sports Trust has made these PE resources available for free from their website. The Youth Sports Trust have a range of innovative resources to help students enjoy the benefits of PE and Physical Activity both in and outside of school.

They also have a YouTube channel for their After School Sport Club on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5pm.
